Abba Kyari's Demise: 5 Drama That'll Surely Unfold After The Exit Of Buhari's Chief-of-Staff

It's no longer news that the Chief-of-Staff to President Buhari has died. Mr. Abba Kyari was reported to have "kicked the bucket" while he was being isolated at a private hospital in Lagos State, due to his Covid-19 positive status.

His sudden demise had generated streams of sympathy to his family, from top figures in Nigeria, on Social Media platforms since Femi Adesina (Special Assistant to the President on Publicity) broke the news on Twitter.

However, as at the time of writing this report, the real cause of Abba Kyari's death still remains a mystery has Nigerians debated on social media in which some argued that he died of old age, while another school of thought argued that he died on the grounds of Coronavirus. Whichever school of thought is right, it doesn't change the fact that the late Political icon is gone for good! Rest in peace to him, once again.

Recall that last week, American based journalist, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo, had hinted us about the death of a top figure in the Federal Government administration, which created suspense that Abba Kyari might be dead. Although, the office of the Chief-of-Staff later debunked the rumour.

With this new development, a number of Twitter users are already showering praises on the journalist for predicting his death. Some even went further to ask her to reveal who's next to die. Nigerians can be funny, at times.

However, the Nigerian Political sphere can be likened to a Seasonal movie. There are always new episodes of drama to watch from time to time, with different plot twists and suspense. Does it sound hilarious? Well, you can say that again.

Definitely, the sudden departure of Abba Kyari to the cold hands of death, has surely opened a vacuum in the Nigerian Political scene. This new vacuum will definitely spark new episodes of drama for Nigerians to watch. Stay tuned!

In this article, I wrote about 5 things that will likely happen due to the death of Abba Kyari. I'm not a prophet or a seer but I'm very sure these 5 events have high tendencies to surface. They are highlighted as follows:

1. Reshuffling of Appointments
It's a common phenomenon in Nigerian Politics to appoint certain people to handle, direct and govern different Government parastatals. From the Federal level to State and Local Government levels, appointments are peculiar to every tier of administration in Nigeria.
However, the exit of Abba Kyari, which had created a vacuum will cause a reshuffle in the Federal cabinet.

First and foremost, a new Chief-of-Staff will surely be appointed by President Buhari. Public speculations have hinted that the present Secretary to the Federarion, Boss Mustapha will likely replace Abba Kyari as the new chief of staff. Therefore, if it happens, a new Secretary to the Federation will have to be appointed, which will make things to change in the Federal Government administration.

Moreso, the Head of Civil service was once dismissed because she had a public argument with Abba Kyari, there are high possibilities that government officials that have been suspended or dismissed based on rifes with Abba Kyari might be reappointed. Let's wait and see.

2. Buhari Will Become More Active:  on public reactions from Nigerians on social media due to the death of Abba Kyari, President Buhari was likened to a TV set while Abba Kyari was likened to be the remote. It literally mean that Abba Kyari was the one directing the affairs of the nation while Buhari was just the figure head. It's even a public opinion that the late Chief-of-Staff was the one making decisions for Buhari to approve.

I don't know how true it is, but we all knew that Buhari actually gave more power to Abba Kyari after the general elections in 2019, when he directed all correspondence to go through his Chief-of-Staff before getting to him. Now that Abba Kyari is gone for good, President Buhari will surely step up to his responsibilities as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

3. Improved Health Care Services: Yeah, we all learnt that Abba Kyari died in a private hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. Nigerians have reacted to it, that it was because he couldn't be taken out of the country due to travel restrictions all over the world. Some social media users even claimed that his death will be a lesson to all other Politicians to invest more into health care infrastructures.

Definitely, I can't disagree with that. Health Care Services will surely improve in the nation because our leaders will want to avoid such incident from reoccurring in the future. Let's hope it will be so!

4. Revelation of Hidden Secrets: Secrets will surely leak out about hidden information to Nigerians. Like I said earlier, his demise has developed a vacuum in the Political scene.

Therefore, in the bid to cover the empty space he left, there'll be more division among the political elites of the nation. The division will surely reveal dark secrets to Nigerians by the time our leaders start to drag one another in the tussle for power and dominance. Watch out!

5. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will become more effective
Since the inauguration of President Buhari into power, Nigerians have always complained that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has not been effective as expected of him.

Public opinion has it that Abba Kyari is the stumbling block to the productivity of the vice president because he has more influence than him in the administration.

I don't know how much true the opinion is, but one thing I know is that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will have the space to display his administrative efficacies now that his political oppressor is no more. I hope he'll really become more effective.

Conclusion
These are the 5 things I believe will surely happen by the virtue of Abba Kyari's departure. Moreover, I hope and pray that this empty vaccum will usher Nigeria and Nigerians into a new dawn of prosperity and economic development. I hope, pray, and vouch for the actualisation of a New Nigeria where the sons of nobody will become somebody, without knowing anybody. Amen!
